How To: Android 4.1 Jellybean update for Sony Xperia P, Go and E Dual

Sony has started rolling out Android 4.1 updates for most of its Xperia series devices. As promised (in October 2012) Sony is now keeping its words with timely updates for most of its models. Till now company has released updates for Xperia J, T, V and Tablet S. now Sony is bringing the ROM update for three Xperia models collectively. These models are:
• Sony Xperia P
• Xperia Go
• Xperia E Dual

Sony has updated Google version of all the devices to (v 6.2.A.0.400). This version is molded with Android 4.1 Jellybean platform which brings awesome changes/modifications in all the devices (I will discuss all those later). Along with these gadgets, Sony has also reported about next Xperia smartphones for which it will start rolling out the update form from May. These gadgets are:
• Xperia S
• Xperia SL
• Xperia Ion

So in short Sony has decided fully to overjoy its customers with latest ROMS out there. Now let me discuss the features of Android 4.1 JB ROM for Xperia P, Dual and E.

Features in Xperia P and Go
This update brings these changes:
• Battery life increased because of new battery STAMINA mode
• More intelligence added like no data traffic when screen is OFF which saves a major portion of the battery
• Google Now added
• New and refreshed UI which supports up to 7 fully customizable widgets/desktop panes
• Tray app sorting feature added which helps in sorting out various elements more efficiently
• Software features enhanced

Features in Xperia E Dual
• Similar battery STAMINA mode is used which enhances battery backup • Google Now
• New notification menu in expanded style
• Improved software features

So in one shot, this update bring some major update in both the devices and it comes from official sources so without any second thought you must install it on either of the devices.

How to install
This update is rolled out with OTA method. Till now no manual method is discussed but I think you will not need any manual method as it will cover most of the country’s region in coming days. So you will automatically receive notification about ROM update, you just need to follow all the onscreen instructions.

In case you have not received any such notification then you can head over to Menu>>Settings>>About Phone>>Check for update option. There you will get complete information about your device compatibility with new updates.
