WORKING: How to root and install Custom Recovery on Micromax Canvas Unite 2 A106

ADVERTISMENTS

Micromax Unite 2 A106 is the latest trending/hot phone from company. MMX has launched this phone to compete with popular rival Moto E. Till now it has given satisfactory results in terms of performance and sales. It is a quad core phone that runs on latest Android 4.4 KitKat Operating System. Priced at Rs. 7K tag only, what else one will need from it. It has a decent screen that is capable of resolving pictures to high resolution, supporting multi-tasking (with the magic of quad core processor) and all. In short, MMX Unite 2 A106 is stuffed with all basic features (that can be bundled at its price) that make it a one man army against all the competitors.

Here in this article I am going to write an in-depth article about how to root Micromax Unite 2 A106 smartphone. Rooting is a high level term that is generally opted by the users who have better grip on technical aspects than normal users. Rooting can be used for allowing third party apps installation, clocking up CPU, making better file management sections and various other things. But again I will strictly advise you to go for rooting only if you are fully aware of its terms and conditions. It is going to void official warranty with the risk of system cracking even.

Before moving to the main tutorial, I will advise you to make a proper backup of your current ROM (as hardly any other ROM will be there for Unite 2 in market) so that it can be used in accidental situations. Unite 2 has a much secured boot loader that can’t be cracked through normal tools. If you search about rooting methods for MMX Unite 2 then no doubt you will find n number of ways on Google but most of them will be fake (I have tested myself). Here I am going to list down a 100% working method that will easily root your Unite 2 smartphone. All you need to have is one computer (with internet connectivity), Unite 2 smartphone and USB cable. Obviously you need to have a grip on computer aspects as well.

How to root Micromax Unite 2 A106

I have found a working tutorial on XDA forum. You can check it from here. This tutorial is embedded with all the required instructions (be it instructions or tools, all the required things are listed there). You can install custom Recoveries, ROMs on your rooted Canvas Unite smartphone lately (once it will be there).

Please let me know whether this process has worked or not.

Official GUIDE: How to Root Moto E Smartphone Officially

ADVERTISMENTS

Motorola E is a power packed smartphone that is like a wonder for all mobile seekers who are looking for buying a sub 10K phone. It has emerged out as one of the best Android smartphone under Rs. 10K price tab (even I would love to ay 7K only). there was a time when it was giving hard time to lot of Indian smartphones like (Canvas 2, Canvas HD, Titanium S5 even) but lately Indian companies came up with smartphones like MMC Unite, Intex Aqua etc which are competing well with Moto E. But Moto E still holds an upper hand when it comes to company repo and trust. We can’t compare Micromax or Lava or Intex with Motorola. They are counted as one of the best company of its class when it comes to customer’s satisfaction.

Talking about Moto E then it is already stuffed with lot of high end features that are superb in all manners. But I know there will be some users for which sky is the only limit and they want more functions inside their Moto E smartphone. Company understand this thing so they have granted access to boot loader unblock scheme for Moto E. with this process you can root your Moto E smartphone in an official manner. After rooting, you can try various custom and 3rd arty applications, ROMs, launchers on your Moto E. In usual cases (like Karbonn, MMX, Sony, Samsung also) company’s hardly comes with such official bootloader unblock scheme. In such cases user has to try some alternate (mainly 3rd party app) to root their devices. But luckily it is not the case with Moto E and you can root it in an official manner.

How to root Moto E Officially

Motorola has embedded all the instructions (with complete information about rooting advantages, dis-advantages) on their official portal. You can get complete details from here.

Once you root your smartphone, you can head over to XDA portal for getting in touch with latest TWRPs, ROMs, 3rd party apps for Moto E. There on XDA you will find solution to every problem regarding your smartphone (you can also try new-new ROMs, apps from there). Frankly speaking then I hardly think that Moto E will need some custom ROM for now (as it already runs for Android KitKat). But yes if you have faced some issues with other segment (like processing part or some sub menu) then you can go for dedicated third party app that have the hold to that particular problem.

Micromax Unite 2 A106 VS Intex Aqua N15 VS Aqua i14 with verdict

ADVERTISMENTS

Indian Market has evidenced various quality smartphones in last few months. Here I am going to discuss about top 3 quad core Android KitKat smartphones that are doing good business from last few months. I am talking about Micromax Unite 2 A106, Intex Aqua N15 and Aqua i14. All these smartphones are bundled with high end specs in terms of both hardware as well as software segments. All these smartphones are launched against a main competitor from Moto i.e. Moto E. Moto E has received fair competition from all these smartphones and today a user with budget around Rs. 7,000 can think about various quad core KitKat smartphones.

Micromax Unite 2 A106 VS Intex Aqua N15 VS Aqua i14

I have compared MMX Unite 2 and Intex Aqua N 15 in tabular form here:

Aqua i14 can be taken as the improved version of N15 that comes with a 5 inch display and 1850 mAh battery.

Talking about the screen part then MMX variant comes with a 4.7 inch 480x800 pixels screen that seems to be good than N15 but is at lower rank when compared with 5 inch screen (854 ×480 pixels) of Aqua i4. So Intex Aqua i4 wins here.

Now coming to the processor part then all these smartphones occupy quad core processors with 1.3 GHz clocking and 1 GB RAM pairing. According to me MMX Unite will output best performance here (best use of screen size in accordance to processor).

Camera wise both the smartphones from Intex completely rules over the MMX Unite with better 8 MP rear camera. Battery of Unite 2 is however best in its class and will provide better performance than other two variants.

I have not included the charted specifications of Aqua i14 here. As I mentioned earlier it can be taken as the improved form of Aqua N 15. It is available in market for Rs.7,090 approx which is similar to MMX Unite.

Final Verdict

Talking about the overall comparison then both the Intex Aqua smartphones are appearing to be on the higher edge than MMX Unite. However MMX holds a unique value in Indian market and is way better than Intex when it comes to customer value and experience. MMX has several dedicated care centres decentralized in various parts (more than what Intex have). So if you are looking from price to value ratio then you can go with any of the Intex Aqua smartphone or in case you want a bit high reliable system then MMX Unite 2 will suit you the best.

Spice Stellar 600 price, availability and offers

ADVERTISMENTS

Spice Retail Limited has today made an impressive move in Indian mobile market. They have launched their first KitKat based smartphone with a huge 6 inch screen size. Dubbed as Spice Stellar 600, it is going to be the biggest Android smartphone from Samsung under Rs. 10K range. Not only this, it is going to be a threat for all other 5 inch phablets (as it will be the only and best choice for users who want a 6 inch Android device below 10K range).

Now coming to the specification part then it spots a big 6 inch screen with 960x540 qHD resolution. It comes with IPS type screen that provides vibrant colors with wide viewing angles. It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat OS with the power of 1.3 GHz quad core 1GB RAMed processor. Talking about the physical size then it seems to be a sleek device with 9.3 mm thickness only (149.4x74.9x9.3 mm exact physical dimensions).

It is a dual SIM dual standby smartphone/phablet/tablet that is geared with both front as well as back rear cameras. Its front camera occupies a 8 MP lens whereas back camera measures 3.2 MP lens. Like most of other smartphones of similar price range, it comes with 4 GB ROM that can be expanded to 32 GB with SD card.

Coming to connectivity part then it brings the power of tools like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G, GPS etc that makes it a high end connectivity gadget. 2500 mAh battery cabinet is there which according to me should occupy some more mAh in reference to such big screen and quad core processor (with KitKat).

According to officials, they have developed this big screen device for peoples with high dreams. From the very first look it appears to be a powerful device with stuffing of all high end latest software features in terms of KitKat operating system. Quad core processor with 1 GB RAM should impart its multi-tasking services on 6 inch board. I think you will have to use separate SD card with this smartphone as 4 GB will not be efficient with 6 inch screen (4 GB is not user accessible completely).

Price and availability

Spice Stellar 600 is launched with white color option for Rs. 9,999. It is launched exclusively through Home Shop 18. You can directly buy it from HS 18 store (both online and offline sources). Spice is offering a free smart back panel/flip cover worth Rs. 500 with each Spice Stellar 600 smartphone.

ADVERTISMENTS

An unexpected thing has happened at Motorola labs all around the world. They were planning an Android 4.4.3 update for most of their smartphones but unfortunately it got panelised by some sort of serious bug as a result of which they have/had to suspend all their activity related to Android 4.4.3 update. But nevertheless they have decided to make a fresh start with developing Android 4.4.4 KitKat for most of their devices. It was the high time when most of the Moto users were eagerly waiting for Android 4.4.3 update but according to official sources they are going to skip it this time. In the mean time they will start putting efforts towards Android 4.4.4 KitKat now. No doubt it is going to take time but at the end (when they will launch it) user will enjoy a whole new experience of latest techniques and latest software features.

Android 4.4.4 KitKat for Motorola Droid Ultra, Maxx and Mini

In the official message, Motorola officials have regretted all the users for pausing their activities with Android 4.4.3 development. According to them they had to wait for the official announcement of 4.4.4 KK as a serious security related bug was discovered by OpenSSL in their Android 4.4.3 update. Now they will fix that bug with upcoming Android 4.4.4 KK update. Because of timely detection of this major bug they have/had to respun their entire activity (it requires re-submission, re-testing from various development labs). However they will again enter the lab with plans for upcoming Android 4.4.4 KitKat update. If everything goes well then they will start development right from next week.

There are no details about how much time will it take to come up with the final update but most likely it will take around 2-3 months (for global coverage). Talking about present situations then devices like Moto X, G and E has already started receiving Android 4.4.3 update. The next update will be launched for other remaining devices that include Moto Droid, Maxx and Mini versions.

When Motorola will launch Android 4.4.4 KitKat Update

No one except Motorola itself can assist you on this part. We can only make predictions which might prove to be a rumour in coming days. The kind of words/approach that Motorola has used in official message seems to be attacking and we can hope them to launch official KitKat just after Google roll that out for Nexus devices. Please stay tuned for live information.

Intex Aqua N15 and Aqua i14 Specifications, Pricing in India

ADVERTISMENTS

Low cost quad core smartphones/phablets are raining in Indian market. At the very initial point when Micromax started this quad core race (in Indian market) then nobody can think of buying a quad core phablet/smartphone for any less than Rs. 13-15000. But today we are seeing them flooded like anything and that too at much reduced price (almost half than what I wrote above). Now Intex Aqua has launched two new smartphones with powerful combination of quad core processor and Android KitKat OS.

On this corporation, entire Intex team was looking happy as now they have a chance to show their capabilities in terms of both hardware as well as software segments. The kind of specification that Intex has used in both the smartphones is really commendable and will be hardly seen with other smartphones. Dubbed as Intex Aqua N15 and Intex Aqua i14 both are going to be a decent option for all smartphone seekers who are looking for buying best smartphone (reliable one) at least price.

Specifications of Intex Aqua N15

It spots a 4 inch screen with 854x480 pixels resolution that is coated with IPS type display. It runs on a powerful quad core processor with 1.3 GHz clocking and 1 GB RAM. Talking further then it runs on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system that combines all the new features of KitKat world. I have hardly seen other gadgets with this system pairing (quad core processor and KitKat environment).

It is a dual SIM dual standby phone that spots 8 MP rear and 2 MP front facing camera. Being a 3G phone it utilizes the front camera to maximum. 4 GB internal memory is there (1.26 GB is allocated to the user) which can be expanded to 32 GB with SD card.

Connectivity wise, you will find all sort of medias with integration of 1800-2000 mAh battery (not sure on battery part). It is launched with black and white color options.

Intex Aqua i14 Specifications

It is a full sized phablet with 5 inch screen that resolve details at 854x480 pixel resolution. Talking about other specifications then they matches with Aqua N15 almost. Here I am listing down the specifications that are different from Aqua N15:

• 5 inch screen
• 1850 mAh battery
• Rest all specifications are similar to above smartphone

Price and availability

Intex Aqua N15: Rs. 6090
Intex Aqua iL4: Rs. 7090

So both the pieces are priced at satisfactory level. Talking about both of them then they are priced for a price difference of Rs. 1000. Looking from price to value terms then Aqua N15 is appearing to be a better phone however if you are looking for a wide screen experience then nothing will suit you best than iL4.
